Fluted shower Panel Aveley
Narrow Reeded Shower Panel on a Nib Wall in Aveley
We supply and install shower screens and toilet enclosures in Aveley and its surrounding areas.
Look at this bathroom for a moment before you look at the screen. The vanity is ribbed timber. One wall is tiled in narrow vertical fingers. Everything in the room runs in vertical lines, and the shower screen we installed for this Aveley home speaks the same language. Narrow reeded glass carries fine vertical flutes across its outside face, so instead of interrupting the room with a flat sheet of clear glass, the screen joins in.
That’s the real reason to choose fluted glass here. It gives you privacy in the shower, but the privacy is almost a side effect. The texture is the point.

Privacy That Belongs in the Room
Narrow reeded glass softens what you see through it. Light passes, colour passes, but detail dissolves into vertical ripples. Someone showering gets genuine screening without the shut-in feeling that comes with heavily obscured glass, and the room keeps all of its light.
In this bathroom the effect goes further. The flutes in the glass echo the ribbing on the vanity below and the stacked tiles behind, so the screen reads as a deliberate design choice rather than a practical necessity that got added at the end. When a fixture repeats a pattern the room already uses, it stops looking installed and starts looking chosen.
The Nib Wall Arrangement
This is a walk-in shower with no door. A half-height nib wall handles enclosure at the level where most water lands, and the glass panel finishes the job above it. You get solid construction where you want it, near the floor and the splash zone, and open glass where a full wall would close the room in.
The panel sits on the nib wall, held by brushed nickel brackets. Those two small brackets are the only hardware on the entire screen. No frame around the glass, no vertical posts, nothing between the fluted surface and the tiles except a clean edge.
The Radius Corner
The top outer corner of the panel is shaped to a radius. On a full-height screen that detail sits above eye level and you’d barely register it. On a nib wall panel the exposed corner is exactly where your eye lands when you walk into the room, so the curve earns its place. It takes the one hard edge everyone sees and softens it, which is why radius corners and nib wall panels are so often specified together.
Glass, Cleaning and Hardware
The panel is 10mm toughened glass with the narrow reeded pattern on the outside face only. The inner face, the one that cops the soap and water, is completely smooth. Cleaning is no different from a standard clear glass screen, which surprises a lot of people who assume textured glass means scrubbing between ridges. It doesn’t.
The brushed nickel brackets were selected to match the tapware, a warm metal finish that suits the room’s timber and travertine tones better than bright chrome would.
