Textured Glass & Where To Use It

Textured glass adds unique, functional qualities to an array of products for residential properties. From Satin Etch to Aqualite, each type offers a distinct look and feel, perfect for homeowners seeking privacy and style.

At Swan Valley Glass, we incorporate some of these glass types into several product ranges. Here, we’ll shed some light on the qualities of these glass types.

Types of Textured Glass

Textured glass, with its distinctive patterns and designs, provides privacy and decorative appeal. These glass types are typically made through processes like etching or embossing, resulting in various textures ranging from subtle to pronounced.

Satin Etch Glass

Satin Etch Glass is known for its translucent appearance, balancing privacy and natural light. It’s a popular choice in bathrooms and bedrooms, where privacy is key, but light is also desired. Its smooth, uniform matte finish, achieved through specialized acid-etching, adds elegance to any setting.

Satin Etch Glass is one of our most popular glass types due to its excellent privacy and is used in our frosted shower screens.

Interior designers greatly desire the beautiful matt finish, and is the glass type used in our matt glass splashbacks.

Narrow Reeded Glass

With its roots in Art Deco design, Narrow Reeded Glass features vertical ridges on its surface. This type of glass is perfect for adding style and an element of privacy to spaces like bathrooms and offices and as room dividers while still allowing light to penetrate.

This is our most popular patterned glass and is the glass type used in our fluted shower screens.
